What can I say to Siri while cooking?

Do I need to set up the Siri commands first?

No. The voice commands are registered automatically and also appear in the iOS Shortcuts app. Just open a recipe and start talking to Siri. Requires iPhone or iPad on iOS 16 or later.

Why isn't Siri reading my recipe?

The reading commands work while a recipe's detail screen is open in Recimarry. Open the recipe you want to cook, then ask Siri to read it.

Found a recipe in a video, a Pin, or a blog post? You don't have to retype it. Tap Share wherever you found it and pick Recimarry — the recipe is turned into a clean text version with separate ingredients and step-by-step instructions.

Open the recipe in TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Facebook, or any recipe website.
Tap Share, then Recimarry. First time? Scroll the share sheet, tap "More," and turn on Recimarry.
Wait a few seconds while the recipe is read and organized into ingredients and steps.
Review and save to your library. The original link is kept with the recipe so you can go back to it any time.

You can also paste recipe text directly, type a recipe in by hand, or add one from a photo.

Getting started

There's nothing to set up. Open the recipe you want to cook so its detail screen is showing, then ask Siri. The commands also appear in the iOS Shortcuts app if you'd like to see or rename them.

What you can say

Each command ends with "in Recimarry" so Siri knows which app to talk to.

Say to Siri	What it does
"Read recipe in Recimarry"	Starts reading the open recipe's instructions aloud from the top. Also: "Read this recipe in Recimarry," "Read instructions in Recimarry"
"Read step 3 in Recimarry"	Jumps to and reads a specific step (any number from 1 to 30). Also: "Go to step 3…," "Jump to step 3…," "Play step 3…"
"Next step in Recimarry"	Moves on and reads the next instruction. Also: "Read next step…," "Next instruction in Recimarry"
"Repeat last step in Recimarry"	Reads the current step again — handy when your hands were busy. Also: "Repeat step…," "Read that again in Recimarry"
"Stop reading in Recimarry"	Pauses the reading. Also: "Stop recipe in Recimarry"
